Good news for Oahu as construction activity ramps up - especially for high rises, currently their are only 22 cranes which will be ramping up higher in the upcoming months.

Total spending forecasted to rise to $7.4 Billion which is great for the local economy.

The peak is coming in about 3 to 4 years.

Most folks that have lived in Hawaiʻi for a long time know that the true "state bird" is the "construction crane," not the nene.

Each crane should have its own Hawaiian Name.

Pretty crazy how the report has home/condo price appreciation at 8%+ in 2016. It shows the median Condo price being $428K in 2017! Holy moly.

That seems low to me - everything being built and put on the market is essentially over $428K already.

I think we can both agree that 'median' means the average low-mid end unit.

If you want things like your own washer/dryer, an A/C unit, and a dishwasher, you have to get above median.

I agree - today. But all the units being built and put on the market will have AC, washer/dryer, pool, etc....as thousands of those units go on the market the median is going to be evolving where one expects those amenities at the median.
