Aloha Everyone!!

My husband and I are moving to Honolulu on 12/31/08. My question as I am packing this weekend, is the dress code in the business world over there. I am looking at my heels and hose and wondering what to do with them-pack or donate.

I will be looking for an office or teller job where here I wear heels and hose as a way of life. So all my skirts, heels, boots-any input would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance! I love all of the helpful information I have gotten by reading this forum weekly. we are sooo excited. We leave Texas on 12/23 to spend a week in idaho with the in-laws, then on to Hawaii to thaw.

Deanna

While we're more casual than most, there are still some companies that have dress codes that include stockings for women. I'm on Maui, where things are pretty simple, but Honolulu -- especially the business districts and Waikiki are way better dressed. That pretty much keeps me on Maui.

i work for an investment company in honolulu and got rid of all my formal biz clothes as my boss said it was very casual...nope. keep your clothes minus the stockings (you may bring them just in case). also bring your long sleeves, they like to crank up the a/c here like no one's business! i'm always freezing...lol.

Awesome..thanks guys. I just have to show this to my husband to justify my extra items I always have to have a jacket and a blanket at work anyway, I stay cold. So I am actually looking forward to the climate over there.

It is possible that my company is going to have me continue in my position and work from home, but it pays to be prepared.

Thank you again!!
