Would anyone happen to have a recommendation for a piano tuner who can make a house call on the Windward side? I have an Yamaha upright that has not been tuned in some years. Also, approximately how much should I expect to pay for the service?

Mahalo nui loa for your assistance!

Call the symphony or university music departments and ask who they use.

After a fair amount of searching on the Internet, I came across the Piano Technicians Guild and their directory of Registered Piano Technicians.

Piano Technicians Guild - Find a Tuner Technician - Easy zip code search

There is also a listing of piano tuners at <http://www.pianoacoustics.com/piano_tuning_hi.htm>, but it does not state whether they are RPTs or not.

I contacted the RPTs on the Guild list for price quotes and coincidentally found that the tuner who charged the least happened to live only a short ways away from my house! She did a very competent, professional job at a reasonable price and I was well pleased with her services.
