Good idea thanks! I think we will hit a couple spots...at least until the 5 yr old has had enough lol

A friend and I actually tried to take a picture at every beach on the island. We did NOT get through them in a day, or even close to it. There are SO MANY beaches- something around 128. And they're not labeled well, some are very hard to find, and two or three are just plain ugly. But we got through 50 in just under a month, which I now have dubbed the Tour of Beaches and I have them on my wall, remembering how much fun we had trying to get it done.

After checking the speadsheet I made, a few good beaches on that side that I liked were:

Sunset Beach (nice, big, sandy beach)
Pupukea Beach Park, aka Shark's Cover (rocky beach, but beautiful if waves are crashing)
Laie Point State Wayside Park, aka Lizard Rock (not Laie Beach Park). This one is in Laie and has sand, rocks, huge rocks way out in the water, and mountains in the background.
Kailua and Lanikai are always pretty
Makapu'u Beach is gorgeous
Halona Cove is one of my favorites, but it's slippery on the actual beach
Sandy's can be very pretty, too

I have pictures of all of these. If you would like to see them, to get a better feel for the area, PM me. Hope you find a pretty place on a nice day!

Thx TXLara....those are great spots. You have a great list there. I think we'll stick to one of those. They are close to home and my youngest will just get aggravated after a while lol
