Thumbs up Amen to that!

Yes I agree, those billboards are not exactly condoned by the Tourism Council. Our grandkids sometimes ask questions about them, our answer is "In America there are all types of businesses, you don't have to look" But there are lots of nice views of rolling hills, farmland, horse farms, etc on that section of I-75.

I agree. I must say though, all of those signs don't even lead up to a great looking building. Of course I didn't stop there, but I did make a few prank calls using the numbers off of the Oriental Spa billboards. (This may have been in GA, I don't recall.) Florida is nice, but you can't beat rural southern OH for great scenery IMO.

Great post! You are spot on! I have to laugh because I lived in all the places you listed at one time or another until I got pushed out by the crime and just general disgust over what has happened to South Florida. I lived there 30 years and could not take another minute of it. I was lucky to sell my house. I am in Tennessee now and love it. Reminds of what South Florida used to be like. Clean and safe, plus I get the added bonus of 4 real seasons!

Port Richey is WAY worse than New Port Richey...But, I do agree with you! Some parts are even industrial...kind of weird how that area is laid out.

My vote is for Jacksonville!!!!!!!! Some nice areas b/c they include St. Aug, Fernandina, Amelia Island and the entire NE FL area into the Jacksonville bubble...but "real" Jacksonville is down right nasty. City is very bad at picking up litter, mowing the median strips of grass (weeks the height of the Empire State Building) high crime, no arts or culture, AND it's even been touted as "a dump" by politicians, athletes and others who've come to town. Embarrasing. I'm leaving it soon anyway...
