As of last winter, conditions there are the same. I've traveled to many states and places in my time but never saw the wretched poverty and horrendous living conditions I saw in the ONF. No one should have to live like that.
As far as I am aware, there have been no real estate agents commenting in this thread.
So, that renders the rest of your comments moot, to say the least.

Does that make me "chopped liver" ??

I do agree that there have been misleading assumptions about the ONF area in this thread.

No offense taken. We can agree to disagree at times and I can live with that. I meant no offense to you either. We all have our own opinions and I can live with that. It's all good. Have a great day.

Check again. Every FL forum seems to have one of more hoping to drum up some business.

That's your opinion. Those of us who got off the beaten path in the ONF saw how people really live there, out of sight and living in desperate poverty. Why try and hide this fact? Anyone looking to sell Real Estate in or around the ONF and route potential buyers to "better" areas and keep their fingers crossed the buyer doesn't wander off the main roads.

That's another area of horrid endless poverty. But that I saw on TV, I saw the poverty in the ONF with my own eyes. I think that really brought home how these unfortunate people live.

I have never understood why this severe poverty continues. Surely these people all know of the world outside and what it takes to leave the wretchedness of their lives. What is it that holds them back... be they in FL, rural NY state or TN (which has it's own share of poverty) or anywhere in the Appalachia area? No one is forced to stay where they are born and raised and all areas of the country require youngsters to go to school. School is where most who escape, learn why and how to better themselves and move out and on..........

Yeah......heres the thing....
You have attempted to paint everyone one this thread that has disagreed your not so expert opinion as a real estate agent trying to peddle swampland.
Whats wrong with this picture?
I live in the ONF, you have attempted to paint myself, and everyone else, that lives here, with the broadest brush.
Its just old, not to mention ignorant.
Give it a rest, if not for us folks that live here that actually have teeth, wear shoes, and have DSL....what would you do?
You're just perpetuating stereotypes.
You havent the vaguest clue, just stop.
