Greetings!

I'm being offerred a transfer from NJ to Ocala, FL. Right now, I only need to rent either an apartment, condo or Townhouse until I can move my family down here permanently.

The position will be located in Ocala but I'm willing to commute up to 30 minutes if there isn't anything in Ocala.

My question is what rental places are good in the area? For the time being, I just need a two bedroom apartment, condo or townhouse with washer and dryer in the unit.

Thanks

Carlton Arms in Ocala is very popular. Check with a local Realtor or classifieds at Ocala Classifieds: Real Estate, Rentals, Used Cars for Sale.

Depending upon your budget, I'd look at Carlton Arms or Heathbrook.

I second Heathbrook. I am from the Phila area and lived down in Ocala for a few years and loved it. But be ready for culture shock Cost of living is low but wages are too. There is not much to do but there is stuff all around you (Daytona, Orlando, Disney, Clearwater, Gainesville/UF). You can commute from Gainesville if you would rather live in an area that is more of a college town but the commute is a little far and the cost of living is a bit higher which doesn't really make it worth it in my opinion. Good luck with your transfer.

I agree with either place mentioned..word of caution though,Carlton Arms is on Ocala Electric. this utility server's charges are pricey,so with that being said, look into Heathbrook. I believe they are on seco electric, whose fees are much better..Good Luck!

Thanks everyone. Looks like the transfer is going to go through. My next step is looking for colleges. Although, they don't have to go to a University here, it would be an option.

Our junior college recently became a full-fledged college offering 4 year degrees. And the University of Florida is 30+ miles north of here. Central Florida is in Orlando about 1-1/2 hours south. Congratulations on your transfer. I hope you will enjoy calling Florida "home".
