Can anyone give me some info on this 55+ community? We visited and it looked really nice. Would like to communicate with someone who lives in there. Also, how are the electric rates there?

I don't live in OTOW - I live in StoneCreek - but they provide for both of us. The service is not part of the HOA in either community but you do have cheaper rates in OTOW.

Details are on the website.

Ocala cat,

I love it here in StoneCreek. I have been here now for 1 3/4 years and have made a number of good friends.

I can tell you that water will likely be more than $50. Mine has run to as much as $100 but I have found out that I have been over-watering. It is provided by a company owned by OTOW (Bay Laurel).

As far as tv/internet/phone service the choices are as follows:

TV: DCM (cable with Dish content), Dish (satellite), DirecTV (satellite).
Internet: DCM (cable), CenturyLink (DSL).
Phone: DCM (VOIP), CenturyLink.

I currently use DCM for TV/Internet under a 2-yr contract but will likely switch to a bundle from CenturyLink/DirecTV to get better sports.

Feel free to contact me in the forum or privately with any other questions. I'd be glad to help.

JohnG

There is very little. You probably will not be able to purchase sink hole insurance. You will find sinkholes everywhere so it is just a fact of life. However, I would stay away from water features. I think these areas are more at risk. I have seen sinkholes in stone creek and the Villages.

Question Interested in Stone Creek

Wondered if there are any homeowners with properties that aren't on the market, but would like to sell. We intend to move within the next two or three months, no house to sell, don't need a mortgage, might be interested in buying one furnished. Our problem is that our budget is limited to 150K tops. Is Stone Creek just out of our reach? We do love it, after looking at the amenities...
