Why not consider villages if you plan to Golf? Just a thought. I would suggest you spend a few days in Florida at the location where you want to live before investing money. Get a feel of the land and traffic and go with your gut. We did that and when we found the location that blew us away. We said "this is it", and it was not central Florida I must tell you. Consider that many leave in the summer and you will encounter hurricanes and hot weather. Be prepared for all that. Florida is wonderful, but spend a week in the location where you want to buy. Best regards

Can anyone tell me if basic cable is included in the hoa at OTOW ?..& if so who it is & would that be like TNT,USA,LIF....or would we pay more for that ? it is so difficult to get through to them to ask them & they try to sell..I prefer going to the horses's mouth who live there , ( hey it's Ocala right ?..) I really liked The World & the fact that there are so many diverse communities within , all different , adds to the charm.....+ the fact that I can go to Publix ( for my free coffee ) Winn Dixie , the bank , the restaurant in my golf cart , the entertainment in the Square , the Market ..it's all there ..Heck I met someone who drives in from the Villages for the entertainment ..why go anywhere else ?....

Here is the website for DCM:
Digital Communication Media
I don't live in OTOW - I live in StoneCreek - but they provide for both of us. The service is not part of the HOA in either community but you do have cheaper rates in OTOW.
Details are on the website.

Try "The Villages Real Estate"
The Villages is awesome. Check out www.TheVillagesFloridaHomesForSale.com

Next, I heard about Stome Creek. It is Del Webb which I have been led to believe means quality home features. It is next to OTOW as its land was purchased from them. Thus it is also nearer to shopping as is OTOW but not on top of a highway. There are no expensive golf feeslike the other two.
Stone Creek seems like the best of the bunch. Am I wrong or missing anything so far?

I am a resident of Candler Hills in OTOW. We love the development and all the amenities. Our one complaint is DCM cable. See:
