my aunt who is 68 is now looking into a place called marion pines in silver springs shores and was wondering if anyone has any information on it . from the net it looks like a nice place but the internet can be deceiving as we all know . the mobile homes look pretty nice and the price is right for my aunt as she lives on a fixed income . Please let me know if you know anything about this place of if you know of a nicer one in close proximity to marion pines .

I do not know the area but I would also look around route 200 in the SW section.

Remember you want convenient shopping and doctors. Maybe a bus to some shopping places. Golf cart?

You might find reasonable priced homes in some of the older sections of over 55 communities. As residences die homes can go on the market at reasonable prices.

Be sure to check utility bills. Heat and AC can be expensive if the home is not well built.

If you can I would try and rent before buying.

Is your aunt in Ocala so she know the area or moving to Ocala?

no she is undecided btwn tampa and Ocala cause she has family in both and honestly If I was not married and own a house I would go with her in a heartbeat since she and I are so close in age (long story of the family LOL).But my husband would never go for moving to florida he hates florida for so many reasons .Oh well I'm hoping to get her close to her daughter my cousin although I don't know how much help my cousin would be she has young kids yet and would be very busy herself you know ? Oh well I'm hoping someone can come on here and tell me something about this park thanks

For clarification: Marion Pines is actually located within city limits, about 10 minutes away from Silver Springs Shores. While it's good that it's a little further away from downtown, the immediate area around this location is known for for burglary and vagrancy -- as are many of the lower income communities immediately off of SR-40 (Silver Springs Blvd). I'm unsure about conditions within the mobile home park itself, however.

I agree with the other poster that suggested looking into options off of SW 200. The access to shopping and healthcare will be better as well. Saddle Oak Club comes to mind insofar as mobile home parks are concerned.
