Default Ocala or surrounding areas

Thanks for all the responses to my last post. I will be arriving in Ocala in Feb, this time the wife is coming to see the area also. We are looking to relocate to the Ocala area, any surrounding towns anyone would suggest we also look at? Any relocation person we should talk with? As far as jobs, housing and schools. I've looked at the Ocala web page for jobs, but don't know any of the surrounding ones.

Besides Ocala, the neighboring areas of Williston, Dunnellon, Rainbow Springs, Belleview are growing but may still give you more of a country feel. Ocala has a lot to offer and what isn't there you can find in Gainesville. Ocala is going to be the largest community besides Gainesville. It has been a while but biggest employers would probably be mobile home manufacturers, medical, schools, horse farms. Have you requested info from the chamber of commerce? Look on realtor.com for info on current homes in area for sale for an idea of cost. Good luck.

Thanks FloridaAnn

Does anyone have a name for an agent in Ocala? We think it might be wise to have someone take us around.

If you go to Realtor.com and look at houses, they often have a link that leads you to a local realtor.

You may also want to try Ocala4Sale. They have a lot of info on that site.

I'am looking to move to Ocala and I'am interested in placing my 14 year old in a rural...small school. Any ideas on what areas these may be in? Thanks in advance.

Dunnellon, roughly about 25 miles SW. of Ocala. Dunnellon High School is where my son goes. It is next to a cow pasture.
