Downtown Gainesville or Ocala? Where would you live?
If you had to choose between living in Downtown Gainesville and downtown Ocala where would you live and why?

I'd choose the city of Gainesville over Ocala anyday... but not necessarily downtown G'Ville.

Ocala is very country. Gainesville at least has some culture. That being said a lot of the areas around downtown Gainesville aren't that great.

thats not quite true....... the Appleton actually has a better permanent collection than the Harn, or is that not the type of culture you are referring to?

It's like apples and oranges - Gainesville is more city-like with buses to get around, park and ride. Ocala is country- horses - driving everywhere. Depends on what you like.
I love UF Shands Medical Center in Gainesville.

Ocala has had a bus system for at least the past 8 years, but the hospitals leave much to be desired.

I didnt know about the bus system in Ocala. Last time I was there, was all horse country and few model houses. Thanks for your input.
