Of the major postpaid carriers, I have found that Verizon and At&t work best in Ocala. I have found them about equal in coverage/reception. Both work well in the city and the surrounding communities. No experience with any prepaid service.

Thank you. Merry Christmas to you as well.

Glad to be able to help when it is something in my backyard that I have experience with.

I live in SW Ocala and I moved here in Feb. I have had Verizon for years without any problems. When I moved here problems started right away. Calls were dropping. I would make a call but no one could hear me. I would have to hang up make the call again to be heard. This problem would come and go.

I had Verizon check this problem several times, they couldn't find the reason. I've not had it happen but a couple of times the last 4 months. Which definitely is a big improvement. So I don't know what is going on, but this area does seem to have reception problems for some. I know it's not very comforting to have the problem, and Verizon can't find a cause. My guess is it's some issue in this corner of Ocala in close proximity of state Rd 200. I say that because when this issue starts up I'm at home, which is only about 200 feet from 200. Or I'm at a store on 200. I don't seem to have this problem elsewhere in Ocala.

That one is more local, based on your physical address. For example, where I live, there are only 2 internet providers (via land based/wired): Centurylink and Cox. There are no other options in my community. Centurylink offers ADSL access through the telephone wires and Cox offers faster connections through cable connections. To confirm who offers internet in your neighborhood, you can talk to you neighbors, contact the providers directly or check with your HOA.

I think you mentioned that you live on the Hwy 200 corridor. Many of those communities only allow 1 provider for TV/internet and no others.

Thank you. I don’t live there, I’m still in Croatia, taking care of my sick mom. I will sell family home and definitely buy in Ocala. My initial plan was SW, but now I’m concentrating on NE. Somewhere below Anthony and Silver Springs, outside city limits. Just doing my homework while here. I already checked who is internet provider, but wanted to make sure.
