By the way, the pictures posted earlier in this thread do not properly represent the neighborhood at all in my opinion. If that's all I had to go on, I wouldn't have moved here either! LOL

You see how you negative Ocalans run off any prospective newcommers? Then we have KSHE95-whatever,...telling every single person, "DON'T MOVE HERE!" "UN-EMPLOYMENTS 12.1% this week!" Like she's our shop steward or something,..How will we turn around this crappy economic environment we have WITHOUT!! outside financial support. They need to bring their money, from wherever, get a clue Ocala.

12.6% to be exact . Seems to me that all the folks that have already moved here have not made much of an economic impact, according to your train of thought.
All I have said is dont move here without employment lined up, as there are no jobs. You cant argue with that.

There are 'no' Jobs anywhere else either. That said, I will be heading for Florida this Fall. Just looking for the area I want to land in. I'm not worried about 'Employment' as I will be able to purchase a Home and live comfortably for 6-8 Years is necessary.
I do get 'intrigued' by all the 'negative' comments people make about different areas and intend to take a 'look' at several just for that reason.

Good for you! I hope you are happy here, and spread the wealth with home improvements and such.
Some people just cant take it when one tells them the truth, deeming the "negative comments".......oh, well

Thank you. I am coming out of a 31 year Relationship. After much 'soul searching', I have decided Florida is where I want to 'land' so to speak. Have 'visited' here a lot since '94, just need to find the 'right' area now.

Why is everyone fixed on Marion Oaks? There are so many nice areas. How about Dunnellon? Up off 41 there are several nice subdivisions with resales and I'm sure sellers willing to negotiate. I live near Citrus Springs, but our mailing address is Dunnellon, (guess it depends which side of the River you're on.) I see so many resales and foreclosures listed for Citrus Springs online. Couldn't hurt to give a LQQK.....BTW we've lived here for 30 years and love it. We're in the woods and feed a family of Red Fox, Raccoons, and an assortment of birds and Hummingbirds. We came here from Lighthouse Point Fl and wouldn't go back.......
