Default trying to find CCW answer

I have just moved here from Michigan and am loving it...(no more snow). I have been trying to get a straight answer about my Michigan CCW. I have had a CCW for several years but now I possess a Florida drivers license. Is my CCW transferrable. Am I still allowed to carry. Just one of many things I would like to learn. Thanks

If you're talking about a concealed weapons permit, every state is different, even within a state. You should call the Marion County Sheriff's department to find out if your Michigan permit is transferable (probably not) and what will be needed to acquire a Florida/Marion permit.

If you're not talking about a concealed weapons permits, just what exactly is a "CCW?"

Here is the state site. It looks like you can still carry until you get processed for your Florida permit. Concealed Weapons or Firearm Program - Division of Licensing, FDACSIf the resident of another state who is the holder of a valid license to carry a concealed weapon or concealed firearm issued in another state establishes legal residence in this state by registering to vote, or making a statement of domicile pursuant to section 222.17, Florida Statutes, or filing for homestead tax exemption on property in this state, the license shall remain in effect for 90 days following the date on which the holder of the license establishes legal state residence. This section applies only to nonresident concealed weapon or concealed firearm licenseholders from states that honor Florida concealed weapon or concealed firearm licenses.

You have 90 days to get a Florida CCW. During the 90 days you can still carry on the Michigan CCW. You should apply immediately, and get the electronic fingerprints done, which speeds up the process quite a bit.
