Ocala's for kids and old people. This place sucks if you're 15+ and don't have an early curfew.

Does anyone out there know what a young straight couple can do at night on a fairly low budget? Too young for a club, too old for the arcade, too broke for posh restaurants, and looking to make friends.

Any suggestions?

Maybe join a bowling league. You will meet a lot of people that way for sure. You could also do midnight bowling with a club atmosphere. Look into a hobby type class from CFCC or the Adult Education Center.

Bowling, the movies, there are several places that serve food but turn into nightlife after dark, teens go there. Also look into the YMCA here, I have a 15 year-old daughter and the YMCA is a great place to start. Also volunteer groups, Wild Waters water park; you can even get a job at 15 as a lifeguard there--a great summer job.

I sent a really long message to the OP and can't be arsed to copy/paste it here. I'm 17, with most friends being between 16-21, so if you're new to the area and around that age, I can probably help you out, unless you're part of the hip-hop/rap scene. There really isn't much to do on that front and if there is, I'm unawares. Pretty much every other scene, I either hang out with or know where they hang out at.

Drop me a line and I'll try to help you out.

Default Halp

I'm 19, just moved here from Austin TX area. I really need friends badly. I know a whopping 1 person and I have lived here about a month already.

What kind of scene are you into? There's a large skating community here, there's a bunch of Buddhists near Salt Springs, there's the Midnight Rodeo, Wayne's World of Paintball, etc etc.

I just Moved here Too from D.C. and I like it...Im 26 though so I like the fact that it's slower here you dont gotta look over your shoulder every five seconds..plus the Weather is great here...But I do agree that it is boring and im having the hardest time finding a job what's up with that ? Also the White Folks here are a little more prejudice than I've seen before. But over all it's Cool.
