Best area near Ocala for young, professional family?
I'm currently in the Fort Lauderdale area and considering moving to the Ocala area. I'm looking to buy a 3/2/2 home or preferably, a 4/2/2 home in an area that would be good for raising my children, who are 8 and 3. I hope to spend no more than $150K on a home, but would prefer one in the $100K range, if possible. More than .5 acres of land would be ideal. $200K would not be out of the question for the right property. Does this type of property exist in the Ocala area?
I work virtually, and my husband is in law enforcement; employment is not an issue. I've read all the info on Marion Oaks, Silver Springs Shores and the like. I'm originally from the North and am looking to get back to a more rural lifestyle vs. the chaos that characterizes Fort Lauderdale.
I would appreciate any information that may be helpful. Thanks!

Happy Looking,
Stay out of the Marion Oaks,Silver Spring Shores area, not a very good area at all for raising children, Marion Oaks has the highest rate of gang members unless your into that. Check out the Dunnellon area, a few wonderful sub division and the schools are great. Raised my 3 children here and they all moved back and are raising theirs, They thought the grass was greener. Good Luck, hope this helps.

the areas south and east of Ocala are nice, are you looking to actually live in the city limits?

I would actually prefer something a bit more rural, a home with some land would be great.

then I would look for sure in the eastern and southern areas, there are TONS of places for sale in those areas. I personally live east of Ocala, near the Forest, but am 10 minutes from Wal-mart and other shopping, hope this has helped somewhat.
