So the horrid economy has nothing to do with it? I rather doubt that.

In case it escaped your notice, Marion Countys economy consisted of construction, and related industry. The powers that be have made grave errors in attracting new industry.
You dont even live here, let alone know about all the lost and deflected businesses.

I stand by my initial statement.

That's an incorrect conclusion. While construction comprised a portion of the county's economy, it by no means comprised its entirety. Your statement would come as a huge shock to the people who own the large breeding, training, and layup establishments that dot the county, to name just one segment.

I stand by my initial statement.
But in case it escaped your notice, the entire country is in trouble. The state of California is issuing IOUs. State workers in NJ are being furloughed. The car companies are shedding dealers at an alarming rate.

This problem is by no means restricted to Marion County, and to suggest that it is does just because you have an axe to grind the unemployed of the entire country a great disservice.

This is what I said (above), not the plagiarized POS you inserted into the quote.

You dont live here, so there are a great deal of things you dont know about that happen here. And what in the world made you leap to the conclusion that I have an "axe" to grind? That makes no sense whatsoever.

Unless someone is retiring, and the OP isn't, why move anywhere without employment lined up?

Don't understand that. Unless you have a year's worth of savings that you don't mind parting with it is a very foolish thing to do.

Plagiarized? Please, check a dictionary for the definition of the word.

And forgive me for missing formatting my original message. I'll go edit the post now so you ave nothing to complain about.

You dont live here,

Not yet -- but I can read and do research.

Every single post I've read of yours is what leads me to that conclusion.

And forgive me for missing formatting my response to your quote in my original message. I'd be more than happy to edit the post so you have nothing to complain about, but unfortunately, City-Data isn't giving me the option to edit it.

Please learn to format correctly.
There is a lot, and I mean a LOT of things that happen here that long distance research will not unearth, no matter what you think.
No one can truly know and understand a place unless one lives there, and involves themselves in the community, which I have done for the 20 years that I have been here.
To do otherwise is nonsense, and likens comparison to the classic, highly-detested "Yankee" attitude that we find very tiresome here, and that so many transplants seem to bring with them. I hope for your sake that you lose that somewhere on I-95 on the way down here.

madmj is on a distinguished road
Absolutely have to laugh at the New Jersey (hey, what exit ya's from?) poster telling a resident that she is more informative of our community based on research over the intraweb. Please do us all a favor and just go right on down to Miami. We have more than enough of your know-it-all attitude. How smart can you possibly be anyway, you live in New Jersey?
