Default Marion Oaks to Incorporate as a city

I've been involved with the Coalition to Incorporate Marion Oaks. It's a great opportunity for the residents. Currently high school children are bussed over an hour in the morning and over an hour at the end of the day so that they can attend Dunnellon High School (which never has been shown to get good grades from the school grading system). If Marion Oaks residents vote to Incorporate Marion Oaks will have a high school within the next few years.

Sunrise Elementary is located in Marion Oaks and has always received high grades. Marion Oaks now has the new middle school, Horizon Academy. 2008/2009 is their first full school year and I have not heard of anything negative happening at that school. Actually, I think the name (Academy) gives the children a real sense of pride. I can not praise Juan Cordova enough for the wonderful job he has done with the children of Marion Oaks and for demanding the level of education that his teachers are providing.

A high school is just one of many benefits of incorporating. If you have questions or just don't understand why incorporating is a good move, I'd be happy to refer you to individuals who can can answer your questions.

I live in the midwest and own several lots in MO. I am interested in the benefits and the draw-backs to incorporating. Will I have the opportunity to vote on this issue?

BULL$****: if you don't like living outside the city limits, MOVE to the city and leave the other people alone!!! all this will do is raise the taxes on people. MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS!!!!!!

I agree with leaving texAss, it will only raise taxes and right now who needs that. Plus, it's nice living outside of Ocala. It will probably happen eventually once the builders get their way and turn MO into a sardine cookie cutter development stacking houses right on top of each other. For now, it's fine the way it is.
