Default Pet friendly beaches near ocala???

Hi,
Are there any beaches on the gulf side that are pet friendly or at least not too strict on bringing a pet to splash in the ocean? Thanks for any help!

Brohard Paw Park in Venice is a beach area designated for dogs. They have a lovely fenced in park area, then a path to a leash free section of beach.

I know it's been a while since you asked, but my choice for a dog beach is at Ft DeSoto Park in St. Pete. And it's closer than Venice. 75 south to 275...past Tropicana Field, last exit before the Sunshine Skyway Bridge. A top 10 rated beach, with a leash-free beach, plenty of pavillions andCLEAN restrooms, an enclosed fenced area to run in after using the free dog wash. Google the park. Well worth the drive.

You can look up www.floridapets.net. They have a list of all the pet friendly places in Florida. You can find beaches by looking in the PLAY section. Then find an area (like Tampa, St. Petersburg, etcd). They will tell you about dog parks, dogs allowed beaches, etc.
