Citrus Springs or Dunnellon? (Ocala, Inverness: to rent, home, elementary school)

We will be moving to that area in early June. We're looking to rent a newer home in an area kid friendly with shopping, restaurants etc far from the seedy areas. My understanding is the area up there is very rural, I would prefer something a little more populated. Which area would be best for us?

Citrus Springs and Dunnellon are both fine. There's more shopping and restaraunts in Dunnellon probably, but it's not very far to find that in Citrus Springs either......5 or 10 miles.

Citrus Springs is child friendly, the civic committee host show’s and things for the kids at the community center and there is also a nice play ground. There is a new elementary school called Central Ridge Elementary. My daughter goes there and it is a nice school.

In Crystal River there is a mall and you will find the usual stores in Inverness and Dunnellon, like Super Wal-Mart, T-J Max, Penny’s. There are bigger stores and a mall in Ocala, which is about 30 miles north.
