Default Alliance/Sebring/Salem Area

How safe is the Alliance area? Sebring? Salem? Traveling through there and would just like some advice.
Thanks!

The most dangerous thing you could run into is a cow standing in the middle of the road. Alliance has a lousy school system, but it's not dangerous. There is a festival there starting the 4th of July. It will be really nice. Sebring is an old forgotten town in the middle of no where. Nothing dangerous there.
Salem is the next historic town heading East. They just finished up the hot rod supernationals tonight. The City of Salem put on a great party throughout the entire town. Traveling through any of these towns is not even a remote problem. Where are you heading to?

Alliance after-dark can be a bit scary if you are downtown. Nothing to really worry about - just an atmosphere closer to downtown Akron than a community its size.

Alliance is as safe as you make it. The Downtown is well lit and the businesses that do stay open after dark generally are for the most part those which serve food and alcohol. the well traveled streets are very safe, but like most cities these days - with as diverse an economy as that in Alliance - virtually all things are possible. there are many churches, but the town has a drug sales problem. there are all kinds of car dealerships, but the income per capita is low. the town used to be populated with mom and pop stores and eateries, but over the last twenty years most every kind of chain and big box store has predominated (at one time Alliance had the largest Walmart in Ohio). this has stablized somewhat the cyclic employment demand that was owing to being largely industrial and fabrication, but at a cost of dollars per hour - many work for no benefits part-time, but jobs are plentiful. Sadly, as with many other small cities, Alliance is unable to fight that influence. The Big Mac that has replaced mom's pork chops is what has occured in town - with many nice neighborhoods torn down or 'too off' the beaten path to be regentrified. Many folks move outside of the limits so to be close but enjoy their space.
