IKEA is fun, but the furniture falls apart after a few years, and the other crap you can just get at Target or Meijer.

CC wasn't the greatest either, (although I thought the one in Niles was better than the one here in Boardman), but at least it was a decent alternative, not for Mac stuff, but for a lot of other things. I got my flat panel at CC.

Hahaa CortlandGirl, I heart you! I don't like cookie-cutter, personally, either

I thought that IKEA was up on the ballot to go in either Cincy, C-bus or Cleveburg and they chose Cincy because Cleveland peeps can go to Michigan or Pgh for their fix and Columbus can even go to Pittsburgh. I was under the impression that they chose Cincy because it would be best for the people in the southern portion of the state and for the neighbors the the south of O-H-I-O.

I could be wrong but having been in retail marketing for several years, I would guess that to be a good reason and probably a smart one at that.

If you buy the cheap crap at IKEA then you'll get cheap crap. If you buy the nice stuff at IKEA then you'll have nice stuff.

I think the major advantage of having a local IKEA isn't the driving distance, silly gooses ... it's the hundred$ of thousand$ of dollar$ generated in revenue from folks like you willing to drive 100+ miles to shop there ... oh, and the employment thing is kind of cool too, like an added bonus.

There's a reason there's designated parking spots for U-Hauls.

3 in Northeast Ohio, 2 in Columbus, and only 1 in Cincy.
I'm also surprised there are only six! At least we have one down here in Cincinnati.

Yeah, it's definitely odd. There were 3 within a 20 minute drive from me in D.C., I had assumed every city was like that.

Cleveland has two within that range from downtown. Now three in the general metro area.
