I actually spent the day in Mansfield a couple years ago and went to Richland Mall while I was there. The neighborhood is fine; it's called Ontario and is actually very suburban in feel. There are many familiar/popular chain restaurants and stores nearby on the main thoroughfares (Lex-Springmill Rd. and West 4th St).
The Mall itself gave me a cool feeling of nostalgia; it was like stepping back in time to the malls of the '70s/80s I remember as a kid. Since Mansfield isn't really a major metro area, I guess developers just haven't seen the need for
everything there to look like it was built in the last 5 years.
The overall experience of Mansfield, its suburban/commercial area and Richland Mall was quite nice overall. And even though I'd never been to this particular mall before, the feel of it brought back pleasant childhood memories.
