Yeah, the only thing I can think of that even has some of those "types" of menu items is Wienerschnitzel. But I've never seen chili on pasta, that's really interesting.
Out West you will be able to get phenomenal Mexican food though, if you like it.

That's okay. It's not for everyone. Is there something in Louisville that maybe I haven't heard about?

Skyline Chili - more appropriately known as Cincinnati-style chili, isn't really chili. It's more like a spicy beef soup mixture that you can eat with crackers by itself, or spooned over hot dogs or spaghetti. You don't actually need to have a Skyline restaurant in other places in order to enjoy it. You can simply order cans of chili online, or have someone from this area send them to you, and just heat it up on the stove. You can even make it from scratch if someone sends you the dry seasoning packs. And since you can basically find cheese, hot dogs and the other ingredients throughout the country, it's not that big of a deal. When I move, I'm simply going to have my family ship the cans too me.

Yes, I forgot to mention they were no longer contained to the Midwest. They are now found in some parts of the Great Plains/South/Southwest (for Oklahoma and Texas), and most of the South. I wonder why Minnesota and Louisiana and Virginia and West Virginia have none? I'm surprised that they've already reached some places on the East Coast. Steak n Shake appears to be the gift that keeps on giving after all...Virginia can't resist it forever

A stunning new development in my research! It appears not only Ohio, but also 32 other states besides it do not have JAck in the Box, and it is rather random which states do. Missouri has 56, but Arkansas, Illinois outside of the St. Louis metro area, Iowa, Indiana, and Kansas do not....California has a bunch, but, then again, that is where Jack in the Box originated. I can't believe that Jack in the Box only exists in 17 states...WOW!!!! I guess I just realized how lucky I am to live in Missouri JACK HOW COULD YOU LIMIT YOUR WONDERFUL FOOD TO ONLY 17 STATES I thought they were almost as numerous as Mickey D's, Taco Bell, Subway, DQ and Burger King. Guess I was wrong....

What? I thought White Castle was the Midwest's gift to the world as far as chain restaurants go ...

The first time I ordered a bowl of chili at Skyline (I lived in Cincinnati for about six or seven years before I dared try a 3-way), and looked into this bowl of ground meat and watery tomato sauce, I'm thinking: WTF? Where are the beans? Where are the chunks of tomato? I had so much to learn ...

The seasoning packets are convenient, but they're so salty! Maybe I was doing something wrong ...

The cheese just isn't the same ... and I can't figure out why!

Tip: Every time I go to town, I run into Kroger to buy a couple of tubs of frozen chili. It's better than the cans.

White Castle isn't all it's cracked up to be, either. They used to be much better when I was a kid. These days they just seem a bit bland. They do have decent fish nibblers, though. That's basically what I get whenever I go there these days.

They really do need to find a different name for it besides "chili". It's a Greek dish - I wonder if there is a Greek word for "spicy ground beef soup"?

I admit the seasoning packs aren't quite the same.

Are you getting the finely shredded sharp cheddar? Not the mild, and not regular shredded. If you have problems finding the pre-packed, maybe you could buy a block of sharp cheddar and grate it yourself. Aside from that, there really isn't a difference in the cheese from what you buy at the store. I know Skyline's tends to be a bit softer. Maybe if you leave the cheese at room temperature for a little bit...?

I honestly have to disagree with you on that point. Of course, everyone has their preferences, but I actually like the canned chili better. The frozen stuff tends to be a bit too watery to me.

Heh. Even Skyline fans can find something to disagree about! Thanks for the cheese tip. I'll be sure and keep trying until I find the right stuff!
