The Burgers are Coming!
I know I'm a little late, but maybe I can bring some hope. Recently, the Dayton area (about 40+/- miles north of Cincinnati) has been bombarded with Sonic and Jack-in-the-Box (though fewer than Sonic) commercials. First, I thought, "WTF? We don't even have Sonic/Jack-in-the-Box". So, it must be a national ad. Then today, I read our area is getting about 20-30 Sonic locations. So I put 2+2 toghether and am now hoping that maybe Jack-in-the-Box is coming. I'm only guessing so if anyone can find out more (maybe where they'll be expanding?), I'd appreciate it.
Skyline. One word. Yum

[quote=Ohiogirl81;1014441]What? I thought White Castle was the Midwest's gift to the world as far as chain restaurants go ...
Ok, ok....Steak n Shake and White Castle Personally I've never been a fan of White Castle, I get sick everytime I eat it. I guess White Castle was a pretty great gift though...just ask Harold and Kumar

Well I must put my two cents in and let the cat out of the bag so here I go!
I am involved with a franchise owner of Sonic Drive-In's and we are set to open our first store in Eastgate area of Cincinnati, OH.
Also as a side note we are expected to have over 15 stores in the Cincinnati area within five years the next one is due in Milford around December 2007.

You are somewhat correct yes we are in Eastgate but next to the Sear's Tire Center where DSW, Best Buy, Value City Furniture, and Dick's Sporting Goods is.
We expect the opening to be around the 20th of August but maybe earlier.
Also as another side note we are not associated with in any shape, form, or way with the stores in Hamilton and Madison/Maineville.

patval,
Thanks for the correction. I had read that a Sonic would be opening in the Eastgate area and that the old Showcase Cinemas was torn down, so I just ass-u-me-d that Sonic would be where the theater was.
BTW, since you're planning on 15+ stores in the Cincy area, I would suggest that you consider Harrison as a location if you're not already doing so. I lived there before recently relocating to Columbus for a job, and my conclusion was that it's the fast-food capital of the world! I've never seen a McD's as consistently busy as the one in Harrison - there were almost always several vehicles in the drive-thru, even at 'off-peak' times. With the exception of BK, all of the other fast food joints there seemed to be a lot busier than their sister properties anywhere else I've lived/worked. Plus, I hope to move back to Cincy in a year or two, and Harrison will most likely be where I settle if I do. I want a Sonic nearby, and I promise to give you plenty of business!

The first time I ever had a Jack-in-the-Box was in Houston TX. It was love at first bite. I only order their tacos. They taste nothing like the taco's we are all familier with. You would have to try one to know what I'm talking about. Each time I go to TX I bring back a bag of them with me ( to warm up in the microwave the next day). Once I called the # on my sales receipt and ask why we had no J-N-B stores here in Columbus OH. They did not know. They laughed when I told them I bring them home by the bags on the plane.I would call the corprate office if I had their #. I heard they were located in CA. I know for sure that they have stores in Tucson AZ as I have ate there to. If any one knows the corprate office # would you please call them & tell them that Ohio is just simply drooooo-ling for a Jack-in-the-Box store. I was told once that Columbus Ohio was a tesing city for new resturants. That if a food store passed the test here it would probably do good else where. So why don't we have one here? I J-N-B

I see Sonic commercials for years and never heard of one being anywhere around. I could care less about more fast food chains. If only Ohio had more farmers markets for veggies and fruits. Then I would be excited. Plus support local mom and pop places. Lots of different ethnic food places have lasted in Dayton. We need to support our local economy better so we don't have what happened to the state in the past happen again.

I just looked on the jack in the box website and there are no jack in the box locations anywhere in the whole Northeast and a lot of the midwest and southeast. Jack in the box actually isnt that big they only have about 1500 stores in 17 states, compared to mcdonalds which i'm sure has over 15,000 locations throughout the nation. I thought they were building some here too because of all the recent commercials.

Ohio does have a Sonic in Middletown. That is located on 122 in Middletown. I also noticed that a new Sonic is being built in Englewood, Ohio. Just off of I-70 West.

Attention GayLee:
I had my first Jack-In-The-Box encounter in Houston,Texas too! I love the mini Chinese Egg Rolls. Are they good or what? If I could have figured out how to get them back on the plane.....
My mother lives in Casa Grande, Az and they have a JIBox there. I was so glad to be able to eat there. I do wish they would come here too.
