Hold on one second ... you said "probably more" than buying drugs at 3 am ... in other words ... the stats are shared with other probable causes such as walking, sitting, or standing ... i.e. the target of crime is equal ...

So, all I'm doing here is asking you to share with me all this data regarding innocent by-standards being victims of crime?

look but don't touch...its not like you had to wake up poor in otr, avondale, bond hill etc every morning so im sure when you venture down the way its a different experience...the ppl down there are not stupid or oblivious as to what the city is trying to pull...they notice white people, among others with means popping up where they haven't been for 40 yrs...they know that those with upward social mobility will call the police and not only will they actually show up when needed, the city/police will be tough on them b/c they don't want the loft crowd to be upset and bail on otr as a lost cause...

and no i had no idea what homicides per 100,000 means...no clue at all...should i thank you or shine your shoes?

i do know gary indiana , a large chicago suburb, isnt always a great comparison for cincinnati, a big league town with a metro of 3 million. too many variables. do you know what that means?

man you dont get it...you seem out of touch with how things really work on the streets...newspapers, tv and police chiefs under fire oversimplify things so much...its too much to explain if you dont understand that basically walking outside is a realized risk for half the city...not that they are scared, just aware..

youre more likely to get robbed while minding your business and killed in the process at 3am than buying drugs...ppl that sell drugs at night see ppl at all hours of the night, every night and likely know most of the addicts or they won't serve them

cincy-rise.... we know both metros are roughly the same in msa population right ? we know clevelands csa is currently a larger population than cincy right ? what i am simply saying (moronic, as you say) is that when you fly into cinci/cov airport at night vs. flying into hopkins at night the cleveland metro is much larger looking. you can see the separation between the cinci metro and the dayton area. the cleve/akron area looks like one huge metro... and for the record, the columbus metro is very small looking from the air compared to both cinci or cleveland.

The stats/facts say otherwise.

Hillside, I'm going to let this one go. Anytime you do post anything that isn't factual are that tells the correct story in the future ... I will be here to respond with truth and I will put all emotions to the side.

The fact is you don't know me or my past. Please do not assume you do.

This is just silly.

Butler County was recently taken out of the Cincinnati Metro area because as many people commute to Dayton as Cinci.

The makes a metro area of 1.7 million, the entire CSA is barely over 2.

It was never fair that all of Butler and Warren Counties growth was attributed in the Cinci Metro in the first place, because alot of the growth is just outside Dayton

censusdata, can you post a link in regards to Butler County not being included in Cincy's MSA?

I can't find anything?

Also, the census uses driving patterns to form a MSA (i.e. FTW & DAL) ... the patterns are already present, now it's up to the census to finalize this. The metros are grown together by I75. Expect a single metro by 2010.

Growth has joined Dayton and Cincinnati into a single cityBy Lynn Hulsey and Lawrence Budd

The satellite photo says it best.

Dayton and Cincinnati are rapidly growing together in a rush of housing, retail and commercial development across Warren and Butler counties. Anyone who's driven along Interstate 75 south from Dayton has caught glimpses of the shifting construction, jobs and people.

But from a satellite 515 miles above Earth, the view of the change occurring in southwest Ohio is more pronounced.

Dayton and Cincinnati are no longer separate cities. Neither is Hamilton or Middletown. The rush to the middle during the past decade linked them with subdivisions, industrial parks and shopping centers that have overrun municipal boundaries and the ways we've always defined our cities.
