If you check the HUD site there are plenty of small homes that can be bid on for a song. It would be a better investment for you rather than dole out money for rentals? But be prepared to see a lot of 'fixer uppers'.
I recently moved south of 'uptown' Hillsboro and have found TV reception to be awful, as well as radio receivers. DSL/cable doesn't exist this far out in the boonies and Satellite has become so expensive my hands are tied to just dial-up on the computer and an outside TV antennae that I haven't invested in yet.

Anyone know a good name brand antennae that will accomplish the max of 70 miles? (That's when the curvature of the earth kicks in) I'm on a hill but not the highest point around. Being isolated is nice but I at least want to see the news.
