I know how the OP sorta feels.
I stopped attending a church because it was all a system that was very hypocritical. I am a person that believe you should walk your talk and that was not happening.
I follow this rule... Believe what you want to believe. I will not judge you unless it crosses the line of being physically or emotionally harmful or short-sighted. The golden rule and karma are also rules I live by.
Back on topic though...I don't know if its sheer advertising power or what, but recently I have been interested in the "Church of God". They state that they accept all people as God would...whether you be of a different ethnical background, sexual preference, or economic status. Maybe its my hopes of finding fellowship with people that want to be happy, share their love for life, and just general support.
Another big thing for me is the time that "church" is offered. The programs need to be offered at different times than what has normally been offered in the past 100 years or so. Change it up for a new generation of humans. I know being ADD and have sleep problems does not help but the times are hard to commit to. Between working, social life, and just life in general, its harder for people to be ATTENTIVE and ACTIVE at early hours on a Sunday morning. So is there a real benefit on being a warm body in a pew if you are not mentally aware?
