Aussie Traveler is on a distinguished road
Smile Driving from Cinci to Niagra Falls

G'day all

My brother and I are coming from Australia to travel your fine country.
We want to drive from Cinci to Niagra falls on Friday 14th September.
Has anyone driven that route before or even know how long it will take to drive there?

Many thanks in advance.

Can you get MapQuest.Com: Maps, Directions and More on the internet? Just put in from where to where, and it spits out directions, distance, and time.

Cincinnati(my hometown) and Niagara Falls(lived nearby for 10 years) is a 7-8 hour drive. If you will be visiting the Canadian side(which has better views than the USA side) you would have to add extra time to cross the border. That time could vary a lot.

It should take about eight hours.

Probably the fastest way is to take Interstate 71 north to Cleveland, I-271 north around Cleveland's east side, I-90 east to just outside of Buffalo, and I-190 to Niagara Falls. You'll cross the border at the Peace Bridge, and from there it's a short trip to the falls. There are so many attractions on both sides of the falls; you won't have any trouble filling up your time!

Once you get into New York state, there are tons of signs and visitor information centers to help you find your way.

Best of luck and enjoy your trip!

A couple of trip notes: I-90 in New York state is a toll road; not sure what current toll rates are; they should have a website; "New York State Thruway". If you have some extra time enroute; the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame might be worth a look. haven't seen it myself, just know it's there. On Interstate 90 about 20 minutes or so after you leave I-271; there's a private residence built to look like a German Landhaus on the right (South) side of the highway. As above, the Canadian side of the Falls is much more scenic (and more stuff to do) than the American side. Have a good trip!
