I've seen this before and it's interesting. Cuyahoga County seems to have a significant amount of outward migration all around the country, particularly Florida, Atlanta, DC, Virginia, California, Arizona, and the Seattle area, with more inbound from San Francisco, the Northeast, and Virginia. Franklin County has strong inward migration from Michigan and all of Northern Ohio, as well as the Northeast, Utah, Southern California, Austin, Minneapolis, Hawaii, and Virginia. It's out migration seems to mostly be Seattle, San Fran, Texas, Florida, Boston and Phoenix. Hamilton County has strong inward migration from Michigan, Northern Ohio, Hawaii, Oklahoma, and New Orleans. It's out migration is strong to Florida, Texas, Arizona, California, Seattle, and the Northeast.

So basically, Ohio tends to lose more to warmer climates. This is not shocking.

^That was before the meltdown. Today will be a different picture. You can't be too picky over the weather anymore.

I suspect a lot of those red lines going from Ohio to Florida, California and Las Vegas are heavy with retirees. There's really not much Ohio can do about that, at least until global warming eventually gives us a tropical climate.
