Great Photos - looks like Youngstown has done a better job at keeping up their old buildings than Toledo has. Youngstown also looks much more dense than Toledo - all we have are surface parking lots downtown.

Youngstown has a very nice downtown. It is well kept. I recently heard that they are going to be converting office towers into condos.

Yes and no. The Realty building is being converted to apartments. They were originally going to be condos, but with the housing market the way it is, I think they decided to make them all apartments.
I'm not sure of the timeline, but the Wick building and Erie Terminal building will also be converted to apartments. The apartments in the Erie Terminal building will be designed for YSU students.

Thanks for the info, I think I like the idea of apartments better anyway. They reach out to more viable crowds who can afford them, not just high end. And its great to see the university working with downtown. Youngstown is really on the upswing. I know a lot of cities have been watching how Youngstown's 2010 plan will be working out in the future.

After looking at the pics here, I took a little drive downtown and things are definitely looking better down there. Still a long way to go, but definitely better.

These photos are going to be 2 years old soon. Anybody have some recent photos? I would be interested in seeing them.
