I am curious as to what kind of small town Willard has turned in to. My parents came to CA from Willard when they were very young. We used to go see my grandparents every summer to see the farm. I loved those visits and can still smell the hay and corn in the barn. It was such beautiful land and the town was very cute. Loved the little ice creme parlor and going for a root beer float.

Don't move to South East Ohio..it is the worst place to live in Ohio...Schools are very bad. Central Ohio is good, Fairfield County is a great place to live with very good schools. Smaller and more friendly than the city of Columbus. But the outskirts of Columbus are good....Canal Winchester is a very nice place as well. I moved to SE Ohio over a year ago and totally hate it so do my kids...we moved here due to jab change. Lancaster Ohio is a great town to live in as well, that is where we moved from, we really really miss it. I wish we could go back, but due to another job change we are now moving to NC. Good luck in your search and I hope this helps.

I used to live in Burton, Ohio. It is very small but it has a country feel and is about an hour to the east of Cleveland. It is in the snow belt so winters there are worse then most other parts of Ohio and there are a lot of Amish around, which isnt always a bad thing, they sell a lot of fresh produce and do a lot of woodworking for a good price. Theyre isnt a lot of housing options but im sure you could find something. The library in Burton is very large and nice considering the size of the town. There is also the Red Maple Inn which is VERY nice and just the setting of the town is very scenic. The Great Geauga County Fair is held in Burton every year in September AND they also make a lot of maple candy there. Im sure you could find more info out online if you want to look into it more.

I grew up in Napoleon, Ohio. Nice small farm community. Schools were great. Napoleon is 40 miles west of Toledo and right on the Maumee River.

Jeromesville is a small, small town and I love it. It isn't a long drive to Mansfield, Wooster, Ashland and Columbus and Cleveland aren't that far either. Good luck in your search. We are selling our home now to move South Carolina. I will miss my country house on seven acres but we are down sizing and moving to the warmer climate.

HA! i'm getting ready to move from south carolina to jeromesville!!! too funny! I can't wait to get back to the country :-)

There's no way I'm going to get through all 15 pages of this thread! It's fantastic that so many people in various parts of Ohio have such pride in their small towns. I think that really speaks to Ohio's Midwestern values.

I'll toss in my own suggestion, which has already been mentioned here a few times. Tipp City (Tippecanoe) is my hometown, and I returned here after living in Marietta, Jacksonville (Florida), and Carlsbad (California). It's a wonderful place to raise a family, and offers all the conveniences of Dayton, Cincinnati, Columbus, etc.

This link should tell you more:

Enjoy!

I live in a small town called Salineville--very small!!!! We did just get a supermarket though. I love it cause I am surrounded by woods and get a lot of chances to observe the wildlife. C'mon up!! We have several houses on my road up for sale. Not far from me is Damascus which is very pretty too. I am an hour from the Pgh airport, an hour from Youngstown and Canton.

Our son lives in No. Canton and works in Alliance. We would like to be within appx. 1 hr. drive of him. Would perfer to be in a country setting with 2+ acres, single story with basement and not a mfg. home due to financing. Any suggestions you may have is appreciated. Thanks. Jackie
