Hate to throw a damper in here, but I grew up in Kenton and wouldn't live there now if you PAID me!!!!

I now live in Wooster and it's a great community. May be moving to NC soon and am looking forward to mild winters.

Default McDonald—"Ohio's Finest Village"

Greetings—

I grew up in this idyllic one-mile square village. My 84 year old mother still lives in our homestead. There are appoximately 3500 people. The schools are excellent. People are friendly. It is one hour +, to Cleveland or Pittsburgh. Variety of shopping venues. Kid friendly. Lovely parks and facilities. "Mayberry" has nothing on McDonald. My best.

You should look into Lebanon or Wilmington! Both nice towns. Lebanon has a more upscale flavor and Wilmington is largely farmland. Depends on what you're looking for, but they're both centrally located to to Dayton and Cincinnati.

Hartville, Oh is a nice little town

their crime rate is very low, has a little bit of everything.
If you want you could move outside of it's city limits and live out in the country, move into one of their nice developments, or move more closer to town. It has about 5 main school districts. Lake, made up of about 3, Uniontown, and Marlington. My child goes to Marlington and we are really happy with it. It is more out in the open. If you live in Hartville your child would go to Marlboro Elementary.
It is really nice, especially in the fall.

Granville, Ohio! Now that is a nice place. I was born in Columbus but lived in Granville until 1976. Moved to California in 1976 when I was 11 but oh I have to say I only have fond memories of Granville. My mother was a nurse at Dennison University and we went to her hospital everyday after school on the campus and caused a ruckus . We learned to swim at the University and everyone knew who we were. It was great. From what I remember it was a quaint town, very family oriented. We were always in the 4th of July parade and I remember they would put buckets in the Maple trees for maple syrup and they would close a section of the main street and the whole town would come for pancakes hosted by the churches on the 2 corners. I remember my friend her mom and dad bought one of the nice old Inns in Granville and we would play in the old antique rooms and drink shirley temples in the restaurant and do our homework. It was fun growing up there. Housing prices are high. I was researching places to retire and for the fun of it I looked up Granville for home prices and was amazed because they were as much as California. Beautiful Place!

^Granville is a rapidly growing city. That might be why the housing prices have risen. But you can find some very nice towns just NE and east of Columbus in Licking County and parts of Franklin County. I wouldnt move to Delaware County. That place is growing too fast. Too much sprawl. Although the town of Delaware is very very nice for all the growth that has occured. Columbus has some great areas and some very nice little towns.

Default Marietta, OH

Marietta definitely has that small town feel. People here are very friendly and kind. Marietta is right along the Ohio River and just a few minutes away from Williamstown/ Parkersburg, WV. This area is gorgeous. Marietta is a part of the Wayne Nat'l Forest, so there are many beautiful drives around here. There is a historical side of Marietta where the houses are old and very beautiful with brick streets and the other side is more country. There are several farms in the area.
I know that you posted about small towns in Ohio back in March, but hopefully this will still be a help to you. Feel free to view what else I've posted about the Marietta/ Williamstown area, or let me know if you have any other questions!

Before I Go Into Detail About Where I Live And Why Someone Might Want To Call My Area Home I First Must Give My Opinions Of Other Cities, My Opinions Arent Meant To P@#s Anyone Off My Comments Are Just My Opinion,

First I Have Been To Marrieta Its A Nice Town Kinda Rural In Some Places, There Is Nice Terrain Hills And Etc. However It Is On The Ohio River And As Some People Are Forgetting How Awfull It Was When That Town Was Under Water For A Few Weeks I Was There 2 Summers After The Big Flood And The Damage Was Still Around As Where Some Of The Water Line Marks. Good Town But Keep In Mind Its On The River And Occasionaly Prone To Flooding

As For Big Towns Such As Cincy, Columbus, and Clev. I Wouldnt Live In Those Towns For Nothing I Dont Have Much To Say About Themexcept Me Personally I Wouldnt Want To Live There And Wouldnt Suggest These 3 Towns To Anyone To Live In, Maybee Because I Have Visited These Cities And Although They Maybe Ok To Shop In I Wouldnt Live In Them Maybe Its Because There Are To Many People In These Cities Plus I Have Seen Alot Of Negatives In Them,

Toledo, And The Sandusky Area Are Nice I Have Only Been To Toledo Once And It Was Kinda Nice As I Could Tell I Wasnt There Often Enough To Have A Good Or Bad Opinion Of Toledo, Sandusky Is Nice I Have Been There Several Times, There Are Some Very Nice Towns Around Sandusky As Well , Nice Fishing, Nice Place To Take A Weekend Getaway To. But They Have Alot Of Lake Efect Snow I Dont Like Snow.

I Live In Mansfield, , Its To Cold In The Winter Time , Winter Is To Long, And It Snows I Dont Like Snow, Some Of The Jobs Suck As Far As Pay And Benifits Go, In My Opinion Alot Of The Drivers In This Town Drive Me Crazy I Think Maybe Some Of Them Got There Drivers License From A Cracker Jacks Box. On The Plus Side Mansfield Has Several Race Tracks With Some Very Major Racing Series That Come To Town, Mansfield Is An Hour Away From Two Different Big Cities Which In Turn Means Drive An Hour Away For Better Shopping, There Are Several Smaller Towns Surrounding Mansfield All Of Which I Wouldnt Mind Living In And Raise A Child In If Anyone Is Considering Moving To Ohio Check Out A Map For Cities That Seem Ok Then Get Online To Thee City Website And Look At Pics Ask Others About The City And So On,

There Are Several Cities I Havent Voiced My Opinion About And Thats Because I Have Typed Alot And Am Tired Of Typing,

I Am Moving To Mooresville North Carolina In The Fall Of 07 To Pursue A Career In The Racing Industry
