Before I Go Into Detail About Where I Live And Why Someone Might Want To Call My Area Home I First Must Give My Opinions Of Other Cities, My Opinions Arent Meant To P@#s Anyone Off My Comments Are Just My Opinion,

First I Have Been To Marrieta Its A Nice Town Kinda Rural In Some Places, There Is Nice Terrain Hills And Etc. However It Is On The Ohio River And As Some People Are Forgetting How Awfull It Was When That Town Was Under Water For A Few Weeks I Was There 2 Summers After The Big Flood And The Damage Was Still Around As Where Some Of The Water Line Marks. Good Town But Keep In Mind Its On The River And Occasionaly Prone To Flooding

As For Big Towns Such As Cincy, Columbus, and Clev. I Wouldnt Live In Those Towns For Nothing I Dont Have Much To Say About Themexcept Me Personally I Wouldnt Want To Live There And Wouldnt Suggest These 3 Towns To Anyone To Live In, Maybee Because I Have Visited These Cities And Although They Maybe Ok To Shop In I Wouldnt Live In Them Maybe Its Because There Are To Many People In These Cities Plus I Have Seen Alot Of Negatives In Them,

Toledo, And The Sandusky Area Are Nice I Have Only Been To Toledo Once And It Was Kinda Nice As I Could Tell I Wasnt There Often Enough To Have A Good Or Bad Opinion Of Toledo, Sandusky Is Nice I Have Been There Several Times, There Are Some Very Nice Towns Around Sandusky As Well , Nice Fishing, Nice Place To Take A Weekend Getaway To. But They Have Alot Of Lake Efect Snow I Dont Like Snow.

I Live In Mansfield, , Its To Cold In The Winter Time , Winter Is To Long, And It Snows I Dont Like Snow, Some Of The Jobs Suck As Far As Pay And Benifits Go, In My Opinion Alot Of The Drivers In This Town Drive Me Crazy I Think Maybe Some Of Them Got There Drivers License From A Cracker Jacks Box. On The Plus Side Mansfield Has Several Race Tracks With Some Very Major Racing Series That Come To Town, Mansfield Is An Hour Away From Two Different Big Cities Which In Turn Means Drive An Hour Away For Better Shopping, There Are Several Smaller Towns Surrounding Mansfield All Of Which I Wouldnt Mind Living In And Raise A Child In If Anyone Is Considering Moving To Ohio Check Out A Map For Cities That Seem Ok Then Get Online To Thee City Website And Look At Pics Ask Others About The City And So On,

There Are Several Cities I Havent Voiced My Opinion About And Thats Because I Have Typed Alot And Am Tired Of Typing,

I Am Moving To Mooresville North Carolina In The Fall Of 07 To Pursue A Career In The Racing Industry

I like Mooresville, but Charlotte is just like Columbus and Cincinnati. All three cities are doing well. You havent lived in Cleveland, Columbus and Cincinnati so just because of a visit you think badly of them? Thats a first. Good luck with the move though.

Ahh Correction .. I Dont Mean Those Cities Are Bad Just Because Of A Visit. And When I Say Visit I Mean Spending More Than A Few Hours In That Particular City Columbus, cleveland Cincy , They R Good Cities I Personally Wouldnt Live In Them, Theres Nothing Really Wrong With Them They R Just Not On Top Of My List Of Cities I Would Want To Live In They Maybe Good 4 Someone Else But Just Not My Type Of City . Im Sure My Wife And I Will Love Mooresville , After 12 Years Of Being In Ohio I Have Had Enough With The Weather And Jobs Here.

I am relocating for work. I lived in Enon Ohio, about half way between Dayton and Springfield. Very nice small community, affordable housing. Semi-rural but close enough (20 minutes) from Museums, Theatre and Dining. Enon is very close to Wright Patterson Air Base. I am thinking about Swanton Ohio for the relo for the above reasons. Best of Luck. I lived in Midddletown NY (about 35 minutes from the city) so I am looking forward to the smaller town/rural pce.

mshay, you should know by now, that every other states (besides OH), sucks. Once you realize this, life is so much simpler (at least on the Ohio forum, that is).

P.S. - I've been in OH for 35+ years. OH has it's good points, and not so good points. I think most people are realistic about them. However, there are some people that must constantly bolster and color OH with rose-tinted glasses; as if Ohio cannot stand on it's own merits.

mshay, i get you on what you are saying. I wish them the best of luck in their move, and the best of luck in your up and coming move to Mooresville. Check out Lake Norman. Its a great area for boating and just hanging out at. I really like the suburb of Huntersville, North Carolina. Check that place out as well. Very nicely landscaped and the growth is really being controlled well compared to other Charlotte suburbs that just seem to sprawl out.

BTW, Donna, i think that as uncalled for. I dont think that i make Ohio seem like it is the ONLY great or good state to live in around the country. I have went to many other forums and said many good things about other states. Like in the Wisconsin forum on Fond Du Lac. Someone hated it there, and many other people were wondering why. I have found FDL to be a great place. I have also stuck up for some places in the Florida, Pennsylvania and New York forums, as well as comment on how nice things seem to be around those areas. Im sorry i just think what you said was targeted towards me.

OH I GUESS YOU LOVE OHIO, YOU ARE PROBALLY THE ONLY ONE WHO LOVES OHIO THE REST OF US LIKE OHIO, BUT MY PARENTS MOVED HERE AND SINCE I WAS A YOUNG FELLOW I DIDNT HAVE ANY INPUT, I HAVE BEEN HERE FOR 13 YEARS NOW IN MANSFIELD OHIO THE CITY IS GOOD IF YOU WANT SOME ENTERTAINMENT, BUT I HAVE FOUND THAT IN MY PROFESSION (IM A MECHANIC) THIS PLACE SUCKS IF YOU WANT TO MAKE MONEY THE CUSTOMERS ARE CHEAP DONT WANT TO SPEND MONEY ON THEIR CARS, AND IF THEY DO SPEND THE MONEY, THEN GUESS WHAT THEY WRITE A CHECK AND GUESS WHAT HAPPENS THEN, THEY BOUNCE THE CHECK BECAUSE MOST OF THE PEOPLE IN MANSFIELD HAVE NO MORALES, AND IF THE CHEAP PEOPLE DONT SPEND MONEY ON THEIR CARS OR BOUNCE CHECKS YOU DONT GET PAID, AND IF YOU WORK ON A COMMISION PAY YOU MAKE NO MONEY.
SO YEP IN MY OPINION OHIO SUCKS TO ME- TO ME AND IN MY OPINION ONCE I GET TO MOORESVILLE N.C. (RACE CITY U.S.A.) I WILL BE MUCH HAPPIER AND REALIZE YOU ARE WRONG DONNA7, BUT HET YOU GO AHEAD AND LIVE IN OHIO FOR ANOTHER 35+ YEARS AND ENJOY YOUR COLD WEATHER FREEZING YOUR BUTT OFF HAVE A NICE DAY COLD BUTT LADY

North Carolina gets colder in some spots than Ohio does. And more people are starting to leave North Carolina because it is experience rapid growth. Not a good thing. I notice a lot of people from North Carolina heading up to Pennsylvania, Ohio, and Illinois. Most of them are old New Yorkers, but not wanting to go back to New York they head to cheaper states with better living standards. I just got new neighbors from New York that just moved in. They are very nice. Came in from the Rochester area.
