Oh boy, Victour, there are lots of warm, friendly towns where you would love it. By the way, you sound like a delightful person!

Hmmmm....personally, I'm partial to places like Waynesville and Lebanon. Waynesville is near a really nice state park with lots of water and trees. Great festivals, too. You have the Waynesville Sauerkraut festival, in which you can get lots of tasty (if you could call them that) treats made from sauerkraut, including brownies, pies and ice cream. Yes, ice cream. Waynesville is also know for it's antiques. There's also the Pork Festival, in Eaton - west of Dayton. And of course, my all time favorite is the Ohio Renaissance Festival, just up the road near Waynesville. Plus, it would give you easy access to I-71 so you could hop up to Columbus for the state fair.

I think it really all depends on where you would feel at home. There are interesting little places all over Ohio - including some nicely kept secrets that make some places rather charming. You'd really need to come take a drive around the state to get a feel for the region. Good luck on your search!

PSHSBulldogMOM is on a distinguished road
My Sister, Brother and I are selling our Parents home in Lowellville, OHIO. It is a small community about 10-15 minutes away from Poland & Boardman, OHIO where you can find ample shopping and Doctors. Lowellville is a wonderful village where community involvement is their middle name. Each year in July, it plays host to the Mount Carmel Festival. Lowellville is also only about 15 minutes away from Canfield which is the site of the Canfield fair over Labor Day Weekend. Cost of living is good, compared to most places. Let me know if you would like more information.
