Back on topic...
Ohio's a good place for homebodies, or those who enjoy a dinner/movie/bar kinda night out. It's not New York, or California, or Chicago...but you knew that already. Good infrastructure in most of the cities, even those which are "shrinking"; quality parks, libraries, bike trails, etc even when underfunded. People are mostly friendly, humble, simple...
Good location for someone who enjoys travelling but prefers a more serene, no-frills home base. Not so much for someone who likes a faster pace or more variety in their nightlife.
From your experience, what's it like in Ohio? The only thing I know that's in Ohio is Cedar Point, America's best theme park. Is it worth moving there?
There is a lot more to Ohio than just Cedar Point, but it definitely helps in putting us on the map. But don't forget the Rock Hall in Cleveland, The Cleveland Metropark Zoo (one of the best in the country), Amish County, and the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton to name a few others.
Thanks.

recent completed project downtown includes...The New Horseshoe Casino Cleveland Phase I which is right in the heart of Downtown on Public Square
The Greater Cleveland Aquarium is another exciting attraction which adds to other great things in Cleveland, Rock n Roll hall of Fame, Great Lakes Science Center, Playhouse house Square,...the list goes on and on.....
Well put osu4brutus03. A lot of people don't know this fact in which I've bolded. While Columbus as a whole may have a bigger population (a lot of that has to do with the fact that it's area is larger, as well as annexation) Cleveland's Downtown population is in fact growing.
OP, do your research, and don't listen to the detractors. Every state has their issues, and the grass isn't always greener on the other side. Ohio has had it's struggles, and yes it's population growth is somewhat stagnanted as opposed to some locations in the sunbelt. Nevertheless, we still rank 7th in population, and there is still much to see and do in this great state. If you can't find something to do here, you really are a bump on a log. At any rate, there are a lot of good things happening right now in this state, especially here in Cleveland, and NE Ohio with all of the current developments. Come check us out, and see what it's about.
I was thinking about moving to Upper Sandusky...am hoping to find a nice home and a job so that I can take care of my daughter..is that a good area for children and to find work??
To Sum it up.....No Hurricanes, a few Tornadoes but rarely bad in NE Ohio, not too many earthquakes and the snow isn't as bad as Maine or Minnesota. We do have random unpredictable weather like summerlike weather one day and 20 degrees the next. You get used to it and eventually you will start to use our common phrase "Well it IS Ohio" while you shrug your shoulders. Good luck with your move.
It's impossible to talk about Ohio as one place. It's an extremely diverse place. Cincinnati and Cleveland feel like different countries to me! There is definitely something for everyone here somewhere in the state!!!

Very true about the weather. I'm a bit of a weather freak, so I tend to be disappointed when a big thunderstorm complex fizzles out when it gets to NE Ohio. I mean, not all of the time, as we do get some doozies. As for summer weather, we get as hot as some of those locations in the SE, but it can be 75 degrees a few days later. While I like the heat, it is a nice break here and there. For the most part I don't like snow, save for around the holidays. But again, if weather were the sole purpose for me to pick up and leave, well I'd have left years ago. And finally the old saying here is "don't like the weather, wait a few minutes, it will change."

So true. I have a friend who moved from up here to SE Ohio and got married down there. I was in his wedding, and there is definitely a different feel down there, than in Cleveland area. In fact, he paired me up with a lady in the wedding party who grew up here in NE Ohio, and she was thrilled, and ended up hanging out with my wife and I at the reception mostly saying how much she missed it up here.
Different isn't necessarily bad, and it's kind of neat to see how diverse our state really is. I'm certainly partial to Cleveland, and NE Ohio, but definitely want to do more to explore our great state.

Not to nitpick, but it depends on which part of Minnesota or Maine you're talking about. Cleveland averages more snow than Minneapolis and Portland, ME; albeit the snow doesn't really melt in Minneapolis. The Youngstown area also has the potential to get slammed with snow, and during the winter of 2010-11, that's exactly what happened. That winter, Youngstown recorded close to 120 inches of snow while Cleveland clocked in at 70 inches. Additionally, just about all of Maine and Minnesota are considerably sunnier during the winter than NE Ohio since they are not situated downwind of a Great Lake.
Don't move there.
Its true its cheap and all, but you are going to be disappointed very easily.
Its not diverse, diverse would be California, New York, D.C., Arizona, Florida, Nevada...Ohio is not not not diverse. Don't get your opinions from Ohioans, but from outsiders who lived there. Especially the ones, who are not fro the Midwest.
The weather and the humidity, and the allergies make it the state just as bad as the mentality. I found this thread bellow, click the link, it gives you the other perspective.
Everyone here throws flowers to the state and are not being honest in their opinion, surprisingly few negatives, but I will throw some fertilizer for you.
That website seems pretty foul. I have never been to Ohio, but I am sure it's a decent place. That particular website appears to be infested with bitter scum that lead rubbish lives and take it out on where they happen to live and it's surroundings.
