Hey there!
My spouse's job is relocating him to a workplace in Perry, OH. We currently live in Crawford County, PA and know nothing about Perry or Lake County. We've got kids going to preschool and middle school so we'd like to move to a family-type setting with good school systems. We heard Perry schools are better than Painesville but maybe you residents could fill us in. We're not really sure of other towns outside Perry; we just know that my spouse will be working out of Perry so we don't want to live too far from there. If anyone has lived in or is still living in Perry or surrounding areas (Painesville, Fairport, etc; within 15 miles), please let us know the good and bad about the area, and how we can do some rental-hunting from this distance...? (Websites, names of landlords, etc) Thanks in advance! |

Perry does have a lot of money because of the power plant so they have a lot of resources at their fingertips. As for living in Perry... I haven't found anything to fun or exciting to do there. It's probably pretty safe and friendly as far as I know. It's close enough to Painesville and Mentor for entertainment, food, Lake county events and such. It's a little bit of a drive for grocery shopping, or really just shopping in general. I'm not really sure how expensive it is to live in Perry - taxes, home costs, etc? Anyone know that? The Perry library is pretty good for all kinds of movies (that's according to a friend so I don't know about the actual library itself as I've never been there) but I know that Painesville City just built a brand new library a couple years ago and it has an entire floor for kids books. They also do the kids' nights where they read books to the kids and they play movies sometimes on one of the floors. The rest is in the email I sent you :-)
