We attended our son's freshman orientation at YSU today. It ran from 8 AM - 4 PM. We found it informative and interesting. Both the Student Peer Volunteers and professional staff were organized, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic!

Presentations including music videos, interviews with current students and a few games were all engaging, well produced and amusing - while being informative.

My son has registered for Fall classes and got his student ID. He says he's "stoked."

I write this not to brag, but to let Ohio natives know what a true gem you have here in the North East part of the state. There are dedicated professionals, academics and educators who really give it their "all" to ensure the success of each and every student. From in state students with marginal academic records, to Honors College students and members od the BS/MD program, this school cares!

One of the presenters had a daughter who happened to first attend a well regraded private college in PA that my son had applied to and was considering. Support their was non existant.
Her daughter transferred to YSU and did well.

This University is working hard to make a top notch education available to almost everyone. It's user friendly price tag makes the deal all the more sweet!

North East Ohio should be proud of YSU!

Glad to hear it Sheena. It's been 12 years since I walked into a classroom there and I know they've made a ton of improvements. I really hope the live up to your expectation as well as your son's. Enjoy your time!
