Illegal immigrants hurt America. Immigrants came to America yes, but they were legal. Big difference.

Yes, exactly. Legalization needs to be stepped up. I just think diversification in a state is very important. I welcome LEGAL IMMIGRANTS.

I agree with Traveler. We need better legalization efforts. Personally, I think the president shouldn't focus on a wall between the US and Mexico, but instead try to work out diplomatic negotiations on how to handle the boarder. For one, there is enough drug traffic coming in that way (probably the thing that hurts Ohio the most) as well as human trafficking that it might as well be a small humanitarian problem.

Lets hear everyones answers to the following questions that are in favor of immigration being welcomed into their community.
1) Does a poor legal immigrant bring to your community and the US something more than the same poor illegal one?
2) Would you prefer to have a potential job taken by a poor legal immigrant starting out instead of a native family member in need?
3) Does a poor legal non tax paying immigrant sucking up local resources like school, health care and welfare contribute to the well being of the economy by bringing new money or services of any kind into it?
4) Do you think that ALL the problems in the SW US are caused by poor illegal immigrants ONLY?
For those of you that have answered yes to any of these questions deserve exactly what you will get when poor legal immigrant ion influx overtakes your community as it has done so many in the US to date. If you wish for it to happen to your community, then so do I ! I hope you get everything you wish for and deserve from such a wish.
I don't wish for just immigration influx as all seem to wish for in OH, I wish for something that just doesn't seem to exist, educated middle class immigrants. Problem is the large majority of immigrants are not this fortunate. The poor by far represents the influx of immigrants into this country. This makes LEGAL immigration this countries worst enemy for all you economic geniuses wishing for it.
ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION makes the problem of immigration in general even worse and actually serves to distracts your attention from the fact that LEGAL IMMIGRATION is destroying this country at a faster rate than what illegal immigration is. More smoke and mirrors I guess.
I swear, people in favor of immigration into this country need to seriously educate themselves in economics. It is far easier to educate yourselves about immigration and learn the pitfalls via recent day history and goings on instead of living them which WE ALL will soon be doing if the current immigration levels remain at their current levels.

One of the reasons I don't buy into anti-immigration rhetoric is because of history. Millions of poor immigrants came to the US, fleeing terrible situations, like the Irish Potato famine. The Irish were hated and discriminated against, and there was definitely lots of anti-immigration sentiment in the US at that time. However, I don't think anyone could look back today and say that letting millions of poor Irish (or Italians or Poles) into our country proved disastrous for us.

I bought a bird feeder and hung it on my back porch and filled it with seed. What a beauty of a bird feeder it is, as I filled it lovingly with seed. Within a week we had hundreds of birds taking advantage of the continuous flow of free and easily accessible food. But then the birds started building nests in the boards of the patio, above the table, and next to the barbecue.
Then came the poop. It was everywhere: on the patio tile, the chairs, and the table everywhere!
Then some of the birds turned mean. They would dive bomb me and try to peck me even though I had fed them out of my own pocket. And other birds were boisterous and loud. They sat on the feeder and squawked and screamed at all hours of the day and night and demanded that I fill it when it got low on food. After a while, I couldn't even sit on my own back porch anymore. So I took down the bird feeder and in three days the birds were gone. I cleaned up their mess and took down the many nests they had built all over the patio. Soon, the back yard was like it used to be ... quiet, serene and no one demanding their rights to a free meal.
Now let's see; our government gives out free food, subsidized housing, free medical care, and free education and allows anyone born here to be an automatic citizen. Then the illegal's came by the millions. Suddenly our taxes went up to pay for free services; small apartments are housing 5 families; you have to wait 6 hours to be seen by an emergency room doctor; your child's 2nd grade class is behind other schools because over half the class doesn't speak English. Corn Flakes now come in a bilingual box; I have to "press one" to hear my bank talk to me in English, and people waving flags other than "Old Glory" are squawking and screaming in the streets, demanding more rights and free liberties. Just my opinion, but maybe it's time for the government to take down the bird feeder and clean up the poop.

Excellent observation ! Pretty much EXACTLY what is happening to the US. I still can't believe people are wishing for this.............What is even more sad about your observation, as bad as that situation is overall, compared to people the birds are probably more civilized about it all !
