That's good news! I didn't think that NE Ohio was hit badly by Sandy. My YSU son said there was supposed to be snow but it never came.

Is Idora Park an old amusement park or a neighborhood or both? The history of this region really fascinates me!

We weren't hit that badly by the storm, but I have friends in Cleveland who lost power for awhile, and had interesting stories about strong winds, etc. probably due to their proximity to the lake.

Idora Park was an amusement park on the city's south side. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Idora_Park,_Youngstown

More recently, the neighborhood surrounding the place where the park had been, has named itself the Idora Neighborhood. Idora | Youngstown Neighborhood Development Corporation - Building and Encouraging Investment In Neighborhoods of Choice for All
