So i will be starting in the fall at the podiatry school independence . I need a place that has public transportation available since i had a really nasty car accident and get panic attacks if i get behind the wheel so no car for me for the last 4 years ( 2 of those i spent living abroad so public transport to me is no biggie) my budget is $950 without the utilities if it has them great but is not a must. Commute time under 40-50 minutes is also a must . Having a grocery store withing walking distance also is a must. The school recommended apartments are either in Parma or North Royalton but they do say to look into downtown cleveland if interested. I would really appreciate your input. oh and in a safe area too.

You probably want to post this in the Cleveland subform. You'll get some better results there.

How big of a place are you looking for? Downtown Cleveland has pretty good public transit, but I'm pretty sure all the buildings have waiting lists. It's a pretty popular place to live. I don't know how much places go for there, but $950 definitely won't get you as much as it would in Parma or North Royalton.
