Cool thinking of moving to salem,OH

my fiance and i are thinking of moving to salem. We would like to buy a house that has some land with it. We have 2 dogs that love to have a little open space to run in. we want to start a new life somewhere away from where we are. i would just like to know about salem and the schools and crime rate and anything else about it. we are looking for a house in the price range of 60k to 100k. any suggestions.

The Salem schools are ok. The surrounding area schools are even better. You can find open land in any direction from Salem. You can find an acre, or a hundred acres. We have it all.

The police and crime reports in the Salem Morning Journal are very entertaining. It's mostly domestics, and giving drunks a ride home. You will also see horses, and cows that got loose. The officers assist in rounding them up.
It's a pretty mellow area. The only rule that we have is that you must have a job lined up before you come here.

I would suppose that the local papers would use printing presses.
The Salem Morning Journal http://www.morning (broken link) journalnews.com

The Youngstown Vindicator Vindy.com - The Valley's Homepage for local news, sports and information - Youngstown, Warren, Columbiana Ohio

There's also a print shop in North Lima called The Print Factory.

I really don't know. That's something I've never looked into.
