I'd look into Medina County it's the up and coming community that is still lower priced and taxes are reasonable. Tons of building, no crime, a great mall close by (Strongsville), great schools and all the cool places to shop and eat. Starbucks, Chipotle, Barnes and Noble, Bed, Bath and Beyond, Macaroni Grill, Applebee's, etc. and NASA isn't that far of a drive from here. Well, for me I'm right off 71 so it is a straight shot to NASA in 30 min I can get from my house to Cleveland, 20 minutes to the airport, etc. My biggest complaint is the police have way too much time on their hands. (tickets)

Someone mentioned Chesterland but they get hammered with snow on the far east side like that. I'm originally from that area and believe me unless you love snow, steer clear of Chesterland, Chardon, Etc. Plus when I go back to the Lake and Geauga Country area. Nothing seems to be happening. It is getting old. The Great Lakes Mall is ancient roads are all pot holes, etc. It's just my opinion but is seem that there is more growth out here (west of Cleveland) than the far east side area. (Mentor, Painesville, Chardon, Chesterland, Novelty, Ashtabula, etc.)

Best of luck to you!

Thanks.
You might be referring to Chagrin Falls....GREAT AREA!!!!! I live in FL (Jacksonville)now, but grew up in Shaker Heights. I'm not sure about the West side school systems (so I don't want to say anything), but am very familiar with East side schools...some of the best in the nation (public and private).
Best of luck in your move back to OH from FL. I would do it too (just miss the hometown feel, the intelligent population, and the sports!!!!! LOL) My husband is a captain though...so here we stay. I can't complain...it was 78 today, and I'm in flip flops!

I would hate to steer you in a direction as I've not been back in so many years. But, I love Chesterland, Russell Township, Chagrin Falls, Solon, Shaker Heights, etc. etc.

Default Hudson

If you want the flexibility of potentially working in metro Cleveland, Akron, Canton, and maybe even Youngstown - not to mention the ability to easily switch jobs within these metro areas... Then check out Hudson just north of Akron. Hudson taxes are relatively high for Ohio, but if you have kids in the schools then you're absolutely getting your money's worth and you can get a 4 bedroom home for under 250K.

The schools are the main draw of Hudson real estate, and the town is just flat out "the total package." The town is very New England appearing and the anti-everything zoning boards keep the character intact. Kent State is also minutes away making it easy for potential commuter students in your household.

Road Map is on a distinguished road
Medina County is growing in leaps and bounds. The Highland school distract is top rated. The Medina County auditor is a naval commander who recently spent time in Iraq. Anytime I have ever had a question he answers within day.

His name is Michael E. Kovack- Medina County Auditor. Send him an email. As a fellow military person, he might have some helpful suggestions on where you might look for housing and employment. Contact Auditors Office
