My husband works for Comcast Cable in Florida, and we were thinking of transferring to Ohio. My family lives in Canton Ohio. His company has a job listing for the village of Wintersville Ohio. Is there anyone out there that works for Comcast Cable in this area that my husband could speak to to get some advice to determine if the job would be right for him. I'm interested in what the pay range is, the hours that they work. Here, he works 4, 10 hour days. Is that the way it is in Ohio? Do you have to work overtime? Is it even available? Do you work outside during very bad snowstorms? My husband is a Comm Tech 3 with highspeed internet certification. If anybody has the cable guy over, could you please ask him some of these questions for me or even get his phone number so I can speak to him. I also want to know if it's as high pressure as it is here in South Florida. Being that Wintersville is a small Village, I was wondering if it's slower paced? Thanks any info will be greatly appreciated.

I could be wrong, but I don't think comcast cable really has a presence in Ohio anymore. Their Ohio division was bought out by Time Warner. Vica Versa in PA, with Comcast buying out TW. That's the way these cable companies work anymore.

I know that Comcast has a large presence in NE Ohio. Especially around Akron/Canton and around the Pennsylvania border.

Columbiana County on the PA border has a lot of Comcast users.

I had TW when I was in Akron, OH. Wintersville is a small cute town outside of Stuebenville. I had a friend who lived there.

Well I know for a fact especially in Columbiana and Jefferson counties that they offer comcast, and have large amounts of customers in those areas.

As others have said, Comcast is limited in Ohio. Time Warner did a trade deal with Comcast for most of NE Ohio... I didn't know Jefferson and Columbiana Co's still had Comcast.
If Comcast is running anything like TW, yes... high stress, long hours, too much OT than the techs can keep up with.. and, overall, unhappy customers. I can't answer for a company I don't work with directly. |
