Question Registering a Vehicle in Ohio

I just bought my car off lease. I have been leasing it since 2004 and since the lease is now up and I love the car, I purchased it. I just renewed my plates/registration/etc a couple months ago as well.

Now that I have purchased the car, since technically its a new car to me (even though I've had it for the past few years) I have to register it and get new plates. I am wondering what would happen if I don't register it until they're due again to be renewed. The registration (from it being my leased car) is still in my name, etc.

I am planning a move next summer, before the plates would be up for renewal again. What if I were to just wait until then?

If you have up to date stickers I would let it be. You already paid the state and have the registration to show for it.
