I've never lived there but growing up I had cousins from there that used to come visit us in MI. My Mother's cousin lived there. I know its not representative of everyone but they were certainly a lot more......country. Like the real deal negative sterotypes kind.

Well, he's my only child, and while I like the small town we are living in here, I'm not going to be happy with my 25 year old baby 2000 miles away. She's a sweet, sweet, and lovely young country type gal, and I'm all for them. So, any help on the area in advance, I'd appreciate it...such as places to live, jobs, etc. Looking for something sorta rural. A fixer-upper is fine. I do like quiet, not rowdy places, most of the time. BTW, I have 3 grown dogs, so pets do go with....hope to hear from anybody in that area, or even interested in moving there, too.

Sorry I don't have any info on jobs or housing, but we drive thru Strausburg to visit family in southern Ohio and there is a great meat market that sells delicious hams (if you're meat eaters ) The place doesn't look like much from the outside but worth a try. Good luck to you.

I moved to Strasburg in 05' and I finally found home here. I have 4 children and 3 of them go to school here. They are 11 8,7 and 11 months. Two of my children play sports for their school. Football and basketball are their favorites. They do have have tee ball baseball cheerleading and others. I know that ft. ball and basketball and cheerleading are not until they are in the 3rd grade. The people here are very nice and will help you in any way they can. Strasburg is not only neighbors but a family. For example a girl from Strasburg was in a car accident and the whole community all pitched in what we could and donated money in her name, even if we don't know her we still helped. I love it here. The only thing is that if you wanna go shopping I mean SHOPPING like clothes or food you gotta go to Massillon or New Phila. They are about the same distance apart, 10 to 15 min. away. Hope I helped.

Honestly for how small of a town it is and in a nice setting too, 10-15 mins is not a bad drive at all for your shopping needs. I mean consider Wyoming where you could look at hours to get to your major shopping. Strasburg is located right on I-77 so you have a major interstate right there too.
