Default West Unity Ohio

Hello everyone!

If anyone has any information on West Unity, Ohio please post for me. It's in Williams County up by the Indiana, Michigan line. I was born there and my parents and I left when I was 5 and now in my 60's I am considering a trip back to my roots. Also to visit my relatives graves and see if any relatives are still alive and in the area. I know how to get there but I don't know about motels, restaurants, sights to see, etc.

A lot has changed in the last 55+ years, I am sure. As for motels, there are I think 4 at the State Route 15/Ohio Turnpike interchange a few miles northwest of West Unity. a Ramada, Holiday Inn Express and a locally owned motel. I heard rumors that the EconoLodge was closing, but I'm not sure. Bryan has a couple of locally owned motels. Archbold has a couple with the Heritage Inn at Sauder Village being probably the nicest in the area. Sauder Village is now closed for the season, but during the warmer months shows a good display of local history. The Williams County Historical Society on the fairgrounds in Montpelier would be a good place to start looking up local history and genealogy, along with the Bryan or Montpelier libraries. WCHS has office hours from 10 - 5 Monday through Thursday all year long. I have lived in Montpelier for 30 years now and would be happy to help you find information you need. Feel free to Direct Message me with specific questions if you like.
