Now I know that taxes are every where you go, but here in Ohio they seem to be off track with ones income. At least out west (stopping just short of California) the reason to carry a gun is for the 4 legged animals, not the 2 legged animals.
This country needs to shut-down the welfare system across the board and reopen the WPA of the 20's & 30's. If you work, you and your family get to eat. If you don't work, to bad, your and your family can starve.
So have fun with it .

First of all, there are plenty of welfare riders out west. Not to mention all the illegals that are sucking communities and hospitals dry. If you think you're not paying for them you are sadly mistaken. Not only that, but if you think there are no 2-legged, gun-toting animals in AZ,NM, etc. you are very misinformed.
Also, my aunt works for the welfare dept in one of the counties here and i was just asking her how that works the other day. According to her you can only get $$$ from welfare if you work a min. of 30 hrs a week. If you don't work you can only get food stamps. Besides that you can only be on it for 3 yrs. then you can't get it again for another 3 yrs. Not sure if that is completely accurate, but that's what she told me.

So what, they still need to shut the welfare system down and reopen the WPA. Make them all work for once in thier lazy lives and maybe, just maybe they'll learn a useful trade, instead of being a Wopper Flopper or working at a WalMart.
Look up the WPA on your computer and you'll find that it was a great program. Alot of hard working men learned trades that carried them through life.
Hummmm work, now there is a new concept.

Ohio Pros and Cons
I am an ex-pat Buckeye currently living in Southlake, TX, which is an affluent suburb of Dallas/Ft. Worth. Every state and area has its own problems. We don't have snow here, but we do get occasional ice storms that bring the cities to a complete halt. Also, the traffic is nearly as bad as L.A. and Atlanta, in terms of commute times. Our summers are brutally hot.....stepping outside in the summer literally takes your breath away. Days will go by where you don't see a soul outside in the summer. Texas also has a huge immigration problem. We have many schools here where the majority of students are Hispanic and classes are bilingual. Our hospitals and schools are seriously challenged with providing care for non-taxpaying residents. We also have a huge problem with foreclosures.....in the top 5 in the country. Also, our property taxes are horrendous. Our Car and home-owners insurance doubled when we moved here 4 1/2 yrs ago. Texas is the nation's largest emitter of greenhouse gases. There are an unbelievable number of snakes here, many which are poisonous. Sales tax is 8.25%.
But there are many positive things here too. The people (native Texans) are very friendly and welcoming. Housing costs, on the whole, are not as expensive as many other areas. The economy is steadily growing. Jobs are plentiful. Property values are steadily increasing.
