Poland
Hi,
Many years ago, I lived in a suburb next to Poland - Boardman, OH. This past weekend I went back for a high school reunion. Poland is a very charming community and such nice people! I've been living in Ft. Lauderdale Florida and am ready to move back to Ohio after being up there this past weekend. It was so refreshing to be around such nice, down-to-earth people again! Do you have a job that's taking you to Poland?

Actually I have family in western PA, where I grew up,I've been living in MA for the past 6 years and want to be closer to home! We chose Poland for the schools and it just seems like such a nice area. We are hoping to find someone in the area to recommend good pediatricians, banks, insurance co.,that sort of thing. If anyone can help...

Oh, I forgot about the recommendations. We used Sky Bank and we were very happy with it. My kids attended Holy Family in Poland and it was great. Our pediatrician was Dr. louis brine in Boardman. He was good, caring and smart,we liked him.

Yes, the poland public schools are awesome. They have two elementary schools and both are great. Poland Seminary High is also a fabulous school with a impressive football team. I would be proud to send my kids to these schools. I don't know much about the middle schools in Poland. In Canfield which is at the other end of 224 and they also have amazing schools. In the middle is boardman and I wasn't as impressed with their schools. Although I heard they were good, they just seemed very crowded.

Thanks,I've got two little guys who will eventually be going to the elementary school, and I have a 14 year old who will be going to the high school so it's nice to get a good report on them.Any other info you may have would be helpful. I have a great playgroup here for my boys, I'm hoping to find something out that way, did you do anything like that?

I didn't use a playgroup but my daughter was 4 at the time and I started her at Holy family Preschool because the teacher and the program are great. When she started going their the parents were so friendly they immediately started inviting us everywhere and offering information. I made friends faster than any other place and I was always busy with parties and playdates. I actually was going to use the public school for my son who at the time was entering 6th grade but after touring for the preschool I put him there also since they had K-8. Some of the kids from preschool were going on in that school and others were going to public schools, so there was a nice mix. The prices were also so affordable.

Thanks, that's one of my biggest worries, because I really don,t know anyone there, especially for my 14 year old son, I hope he makes friends quickly! I'm really looking forward to our move, but it can be stressful with children.I'm glad it seems to be as nice of an area as we thought it would be. The school reports was our main reason for choosing Poland, but a report doesn't tell the whole story!
